Portugal’s Ideal Weather Prompts Flowr to Setup Cannabis Grow Operation Like Tilray and Aurora
Portugal is fast-becoming a favorite among cannabis businesses because of its California-like weather. Before The Flowr Corporation, there were Tilray and Aurora. Flowr aims to grow cannabis in the Portuguese countryside of Aljustrel. The company is planning to acquire 80 percent of Holigen, a Portuguese firm with a well-established cannabis operation some 100 miles from the nation’s capital in Lisbon.
Should the plan push through, Flowr will own one of the world’s largest facilities for cannabis. The site in the Portuguese region of Alentejo is 72 hectares. It can produce up to 550 tons of cannabis every year, with the ability to reach cannabis production of up to 700 tons annually.
