Full Spectrum CBD Oil vs CBD Isolate: Is Whole Plant Hemp Cannabidiol Extract's Entourage Effect Real?

The cannabidiol-based product industry is booming and as a result, there are many new brands that have popped up. With that, there are countless different products available and it can certainly be challenging to determine the qualities discussed. One common issue is that many brands designate their products as either “full spectrum” and “CBD isolate.” Here is the difference between the two, so that interested buyers know what they are purchasing.

The Difference Between CBD Isolate And Full Spectrum CBD

Cannabidiol (CBD) supplements traditionally come in two forms: full spectrum and CBD isolate. Full spectrum CBD is a powerful and potent substance because it maintains all of the key substances that are in the marijuana plant, such as cannabidiol, tetrahydrocannabivarin, and cannabigerol. In addition, full spectrum CBD also may contain trace amounts of CBD – up to 0.3%.

Alternatively, CBD isolate is CBD that has been extracted from the marijuana plant and purified from cannabinoids. When it comes to cannabinoids, they vary in the benefits that they offer. Thus, it is best to opt for a brand that offers as many types of cannabinoids as possible.

The More Effective Option

It is ideal to choose a product that is the most effective option. This then begs the question – which is more effective, CBD isolate or full spectrum CBD?

Prior to 2015, the common view was that full spectrum CBD was less effective than CBD Isolate. However, in that year, a new study was released by the Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem. The study’s researchers determined that full spectrum CBD, when issued to a group of mice, performed more effectively in providing pain relief than the alternative, CBD isolate. The full spectrum CBD was able to provide more pain relief than the isolate formula.

However, it should be noted that even though full spectrum has been noted to be more effective at providing pain relief, isolate does have its benefits as well. For example, CBD isolate can be used to treat specific ailments and issues. The key is to ensure that one opts for a brand that uses the right cannabinoids for such an effect. One of the main qualities to look for when choosing an isolate is the purity levels. Products with a purity level that below 99.9% may not be an option worth buying, as such low purity levels may be less effective.

Over time, the power and potential of CBD isolate and full spectrum CBD will become more apparent than what is already known. There is still a need for more research into each of these substances so that interested buyers can make informed decisions that they can be pleased with.
