A Look at the CBD Product Mislabeling Lawsuit Stayed Versus Green Roads
According to a recent report by FoodNavigator, lawsuit Synder et al. v. Green Roads of Florida LLC, a lawsuit involving discrepancies concerning stated and actual CBD content in gummies and oils, district court judge Ursula Ungard granted a motion to stay because the FDA is “actively considering” the CBD marketplace.
The report highlights several portions of the Order, in which the Court noted that the FDA is “under considerable pressure from Congress and industry to expedite the publication of regulation and policy guidance regarding CBD products.” The Court further noted that the FDA is concerned with, among other things, issues such as whether CBD products pose a safety risk, how the mode of delivery impacts safety, and whether there are dosage considerations related to safety.
Further, according to the report, similar motions to stay are being filed in other like-cases, while citing to the aforementioned order.
