The Hemp Room Café in Upper Craigs Set to Open as Scotland's First CBD-Infused Food Store

41 year old Claire Watson is all set to start a new city centre hemp café later this year in Stirling, offering people the chance to avail food prepared using hemp oil and drinks laced with CBD oil as well as selling CBD oils and essentials. It will be Scotland’s first café which uses ingredients and products from Cannabis plants.

Hemp and CBD are both legal components of the cannabis plant. Hemp, a strain of the cannabis sativa plant species and CBD, or Cannabidiol, one of some 113 identified Cannabinoids which accounts for up to 40 percent of the plant’s extract, are both non-psychoactive and legal components of the cannabis plant.

She used the Cannabis based products herself to fight back PTSD following problems in life. These products derived from the cannabis plant can help reduce stress and anxiety, inflammation, pain relief and is believed to promote restful sleep. Ms Watson, who lives in the Hillfoots, is eager to promote the benefits of the cannabis-based products when later this year she opens The Hemp Room Cafe in Upper Craigs , in premises previously occupied by Martin Craig Kitchens and Bathrooms.

She is an advocate of the benefits of the legal cannabis-based products and believes that hemp is about healing, love and connecting people.

The café will have a healthy menu with vegan options where everything will be cooked in hemp oil- even on the kid’s menu, a chill-out area on the back, “The breathing space”, where people can sit and relax and read informative books on the benefits of the amazing hemp plant and CBD for the body and mind.

UK government relaxed the rules on medicinal cannabis in November last year, making it available to be prescribed to patients legally. She was utterly proud of overcoming the problems she faced and believes the products derived from cannabis helped to aid her recovery. Now through her café, she hopes to use her experiences to help others facing the same issues.
