Whole Foods Topical CBD Products Expands to 13 New States, Including Pacha Soap Bath Items
On Wednesday, September 18, 2019, American multinational supermarket, Whole Foods Market, revealed that it would extend its topical CBD products to 13 new states. The endeavor will result in CBD presence across 350 locations in 30 different states as per the press release.
According to the Global Senior Category Merchant of Whole Foods Market, Jennifer Coleman, this move was made as a result of interest in CBD among customers. In terms of the extension, offerings include, but are not limited to, CBD bath products such as Pacha Soap Co.’s CBD Mineral Soak, Whipped and Bar Soaps, and CBD Froth Bombs.
As per Coleman:
“We’re thrilled to roll out topical CBD products in even more stores and to share new, exclusive items from our longstanding supplier partner Pacha Sop Co.”
The decision to include CBD at Whole Foods rests in Co-Founder, John Mackey, who saw the opportunity in leading the pack when it comes to mainstream supermarkets. At the time, he believed that the “chances were good”, adding that interest among consumers and retailers has surged drastically.
Grocery Dive also reported on Whole Foods expansion goals, emphasizing how big the CBD industry market has come.
The Managing Direction at the Brightfield Group, Bethany Gomez, was referenced here sharing that:
“The real explosion that we’ve seen in this market both prior to the Farm Bill passing and in 2019 is really unprecedented […] This is coming from a wide variety of angles.”
When discussing the different facets of the market, she mentioned that by year-end 2019, the CBD industry will have witnessed a 700 percent growth rate. Most of all, she trusts that given the different use cases for CBD, the market is expected to flourish some more.
That said, between October 4 and October 6, Whole Food Market’s beauty products (CBD and non-CBD) will be 25 percent off.
