New Cannabis-Infused Drinks and Edibles Line Coming from Green Peak Innovations and Short’s Brewing
Green Peak Innovations has partnered with Short's Brewing to produce a line of cannabis-infused beverages and edibles. Jeff Radway, the CEO of Green Peak Innovations, made this announcement at the Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference.
Radway said that their partnership with the Michigan-based company involves creating cannabis products that mimic the popular Short's beer taste for people who love them. However, this will not contain alcohol. Radway noted that some of their initial products would include Huma Lupa Licious-tasting vape pens and Soft Parade-flavored gummies.
Radway said that the two companies would also jointly venture into the cannabis-infused beverage category. Short's is creating a line of beverages that include sparkling waters, cold brew coffee, lemonades, “mocktail” tonics, teas, and more.
Currently, Michigan law prohibits the addition of THC to alcoholic drinks.
According to Radway, people will be able to socialize, relax and enjoy a new form of cannabis journey with lighter Short's new generation beverages.
Short's Brewing Company's president and visionary said that cannabis and THC products have for years been part of their innovation and development discussions. He added that they are stocked enough to work with the Green Peak team to bring their next level concepts and products to the market.
Once the law allows, the Bellaire-based brewer and the Lansing-based cannabis company will work together and infuse existing Short's beer with THC and/or CBD. The licensing agreement broadly allows Green Peak to use Short's brand as well as beer formulations to come up with any form of cannabis-infused product.
The first edible from this partnership is expected to debut before the year ends. Infused beverages will follow shortly after.
