UFC Welterweight Star Colby Covington, Cannafornia Come Together to Fight Opioid Dependence
American mixed martial artist and UFC welterweight star, Colby Covington supposedly formed an alliance with sports-focused firm, Cannafornia CBD as a way to bring awareness of the cannabis plant’s ability to treat sports-related pain while free consumers of opioid dependence.
The news, which was revealed via a press release on Cision PR Newswire, noted that Covington has since signed the deal, in which the latter indirectly shared the news on his Instagram account.
In particular, he highlighted the following:
“As you guys know, I’m getting ready for a fight this Saturday against Lawler & my training is in full gear […] My favorite thing to do after fights is use my CBD balm on all my joints, feet & hands. Once I tried CBD, I knew I had to make sure others knew about it too […] Plant over pills baby.”
The CEO of Cannafornia, Paul King shared the reasons as to why such a partnership is deemed essential. By giving the example of opioid-overdosing, King highlighted that the duo will be “fighting that battle with products produced from natural God-given plants.”
He further mentioned that Covington’s athletism, and overall career has revealed the latter’s humbleness and overall understanding of CBD’s health potential, adding that this facet in Covington is crucial in bringing awareness and spreading the message.
Cannafornia CBD currently offers a number of CBD-infused products including chocolates, vape oils, balms, capsules, oils and caramels among others. Click here to learn more about Cannafornia.
