Tilray (TLRY) Pushes to Expand Internationally by Renting Space for Outdoor Cultivation in Portugal

Canadian pharmaceutical and premium medical cannabis producer, Tilray has supposedly entered a new partnership that would allow the company to further expand itself. In fact, it is its subsidiary company, Tilray Portugal that secured the deal with Espaorão in which the former will be adding an outdoor growing method to its means of cultivation reports Grizzle.

As for the deal in signing this agreement, this opportunity gives Tilray Portugal access to 20 hectares of space to facilitate outdoor growing techniques situated in the Alentejo region. After the growing and drying out process on said space, the flowers will be delivered to Tilray Portugal’s main operations in which the processing and distributing of products will happen.

Tilray’s European Managing Director, Sascha Mielcarek expressed excitement and delight in being able to expand the brand altogether, underlining that partnering with Espaorão will help the team to “produce high-quality medical cannabis products in Europe using innovative outdoor growing methods.”

Not only have the steps in expanding its resources for cultivation have been put into action, but also that of the team. In addition to its 150 employees, five new vice presidents and directors have supposedly onboarded Tilray Portugal’s efforts, all of whom will be managing international operations. The team expects to deliver an array of harvests by year end!
