Renowned Vet and CBD Expert, Dr. Joseph Wakshlag, Becomes “Chief Medical Officer” of ElleVet Sciences
Dr. Joseph Wakshlag, DVM, Ph. D, DACVN, DACVSMR, has been given the position of Chief Medical Officer at ElleVet Sciences as per recent press release.
This is a milestone for ElleVet Sciences, as Dr. Wakshlag is popularly known as the first-ever veterinarian to have concluded that the use of cannabidiol (CBD) is significantly effective for pets.
In a 2018 study conducted by the doctor et al., which explored the CBD’s effectiveness in aiding dogs with osteoarthritis (i.e. most common form of arthritis that affects one’s joints in the hands, knees, hips and spinal regions), concluded that a serving of 2mg per kg twice daily can increase both comfort and activity levels in said dogs.
ElleVet shouldn’t be taken so lightly either, as their partnership in a clinical trial with vets at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine found that CBD was effective in 80 percent of dogs.
The Chairman of ElleVet Sciences, Dr. Michael Williams shared that Dr. Wakshlag will be leading the company’s science domain, primarily focusing on the correlation between pets and CBD. On behalf of the team, he expressed the following:
“We welcome his strategic insight and deep knowledge of veterinary medicine, as the foremost expert in hemp CBD research for companion animals.”
The renowned specialist expressed pleasure in the endeavor, adding that he looks,
“forward to a long and productive relationship as Chief Medical Officer at ElleVet and continuing to explore new areas in CBD research to address areas of unmet need in veterinary medicine.”
Presently, the duo is working together to prove ElleVet hemp CBD’s effectiveness by conducting a number of clinical trials. The main goal is supposedly to see whether its uses can positively impact health concerns such as seizures, oncology, and acute pain among others.
