Docklight CEO, Ex-Coca-Cola Executive, Targets CBD Market, Looks to Become Pioneering Brand
Docklight, a leading CBD brand in the industry, is in the process of expanding its product portfolio. The cannabinoid brand is aiming at producing a range of CBD products including skincare topicals, beverages, and CBD-infused edibles. According to Docklight’s CEO, Mr. Damian Marano, the company wants to be the pioneer total consumer company in the CBD industry.
Docklight has over twelve CBD and THC brands. The most popular Docklight brand is the Marley brand which offers THC and CBD-infused products. The company acquired a global license stretching for 30 years from the family of the legendary reggae artist, Bob Marley. The license allows the company to produce cannabis products under the name Marley. The brand sells psychoactive products in dispensaries as well as CBD edibles.
Marano, the CEO, joined Docklight this year after leaving the Coca-Cola company. Morano told BeverageDaily that he has observed that many CBD products have low trials but once consumers have tried them, there is a rapidly high repeat purchase rate. The company believes that consumer education on CBD will help increase the products’ trial rates due to reduced uncertainties among some of the consumers.
Docklight launched additional new brands at this year’s National Association of Convenience Stores Show. Among the new product lines include Marley’s tea and Chocolate lines as well as Irisa which is a brand of CBD sprinkling water.
The company has noted that the majority of its market demographics are women seeking self-care options. Women's interest in CBD grew 96% in 2018 and women are 17% more likely to try CBD products for wellness and restoration.
