CBD, Along With Celery Juice And Pea Protein, Among Emerging Ingredients At Food For Function
Food for Function 2019 is an event that took place in Tel Aviv, Israel this week. Food Business News reported that Tastewise, a startup based in Tel Aviv, issued a report about the function concerning trending foods. The company used its artificial intelligence to analyze data points derived from social media interactions, restaurant menus, and recipes.
Consumers are apparently interested in celery juice and CBD. According to the report, there has been a 209% increase from last year concerning the use of celery juice for weight loss, and a 106% increase on the use of celery juice for sickness and treatment.
CBD is also growing in popularity. The report indicates that more consumers are mentioning CBD for gut health – about 286% more consumers than last year. In addition, there has been a 201% increase in mentions of CBD for sleep, and 138% increase for immune benefits. CBD has also been placed on menus, 222% more than last year. In addition, there has been a 925% increase in mentions of hemp extract for stress relief management.
