  • Cannabis company THC BioMed will soon release pre-rolled cannabis cigarettes with filters.
  • The goal of THC BioMed is to offer the same experience with better protection for consumers.

Canada recently made history when it legalized all forms of marijuana. However, one company in the country will soon be launching an incredibly innovative product with a sense of familiarity. According to reports from The Deep Dive, THC BioMed is looking to release a new produce they’ve developed – Pure Cannabis Cigarettes.

These new cigarettes are filled with cannabis, rather than tobacco, and are machine made into pre-rolled cigarettes, even including a filter like a regular cigarette. In fact, these cigarettes will look almost exactly like regular cigarettes, so anyone trying to bum a cigarette may need to ask beforehand exactly what they are getting.

With no tobacco, nicotine, or any chemicals added to the blend, the only substance that consumers will be smoking is cannabis in this product. However, apart from the inconspicuous appearance, there is little information about why a filter would be beneficial at the end of the cigarette. Still, with the machinery that THC BioMed has, they are able to create approximately 5,000 cannabis cigarettes in a single minute, and they hope to make a major entry into the pre-roll market in Canada.

John Miller, the THC BioMed president and CEO, commented in a press release,

“We are please to be the first cannabis producer to put filters between the cannabis we are selling, and our consumers. Filters were invented to protect the consumer and not degrade the experience.”

While there are some customers that are concerned about how a filter will take away from the total quantity and effect of the cannabinoids inside, Miller remains confident that the cigarettes will give the experience desired. He commented,

“We promise our Pure Cannabis Cigarettes will offer the same potency as our regular best-selling pre-rolls.” He added that he believes that customers will ultimately move towards this “finished type of product,” rather than opting for old-fashioned rolling methods.

THC BioMed is not alone in their work to replace tobacco products with cannabis. According to recent reports, a company in California called Cannadips has created a snus that uses THC. Virea Health, a medical cannabis company, has already been working to establish a patent for spliffs, which are tobacco cigarettes that have been doused with cannabinoids. Even CBD pre-rolls are gaining more popularity as consumers work to stop their addiction to tobacco cigarettes.

The new THC BioMed cannabis cigarettes will soon be available through licensed marijuana retailers in Canada, meant exclusively for adult use. The cigarettes will be offered in packs of 3 or 20 joints at a time, available in sativa, hybrid, Indica, and CBD.
