New Metagenics Hemp Advantage Plus CBD Product Combines Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA)
On Thursday, October 17, 2019, Science-based supplements and medical foods provider, Metagenics officially launched its Hemp Advantage Plus; the third of its kind to make it to their hemp line.
The Hemp Advantage Plus combines broad spectrum CBD (cannabidiol) and PEA, which is short for Palmitoylethanolamide. The latter is a type of bioactive lipid, and when combined with CBD, it is believed to support the endocannabinoid system housed within our systems. More specifically, it is expected to have a positive impact on one’s stress and immune responses as well as energy levels and promoting a regulated digestive system among others.
To ensure bioavailability is met, the team at Metagenics have supposedly included Levagen®, which works more so for activating PEA. Offered in softgels, each serving (i.e. one softgel) combines 300mg of PEA, 70mg of organic broad-spectrum hemp, and 3.75mg of black pepper.
Speaking of the launch is the General Manager of Metagenics for the North American Division, Matthew Martinez. The decision to further develop the line comes from the obvious fact that the human endocannabinoid system is a big area of research and interest among consumers and health professionals. Martinez shared that making said system the star of the show is the main goal. In particular, he said:
“The endocannabinoid system is a rapidly growing area of interest […] By combining hemp with PEA, we’re leveraging science on the endocannabinoid system and the entourage effect to offer an innovative, practitioner-exclusive formula.”
As for the team’s level of transparency, they have been documenting the overall consistency and quality of their products with TruQuality, where the latter provides crucial information regarding analytical tests and their overall performance. Some of the factors that are typically assessed include presence of heavy metals, and strength of ingredients.
