New Crysteda CBD-Infused Water Product Will Launch by A Group of Moms with Grow Tech Labs
  • The new CBD water will include four flavors at the start.
  • These products contain no THC.

CBD products are popping up all over the world, and beverages infused with this substance are no different. While the world may not know the names Crystal Lindsay, Danna Sheck, and Stephanie Pladson may not be widely known yet, these South Surrey mothers will soon be delivering a new CBD beverage – an infused water – in collaboration with Grow Tech Labs.

The new water, which is called Crysteda, is still pending federal regulations in Canada that will outline necessary protocols for edible cannabis products. These regulations are expected to be announced in less than a month, though the trio of women have been developing their product in California in the meantime.

The water is stored in a can, which is meant to reduce the use of plastic water bottles that just get thrown away after a single use and contribute to pollution. It contains 5mg of CBD, and the women have spoken with Peace Arch News to confirm that there will be no THC found in the product. They made no health claims about what CBD could do for consumers, according to Health Canada, even though CBD doesn’t actually cause any intoxication or “high” feeling. Still, the women spoke about their personal experience, saying that CBD has helped them personally with pain relief, anxiety relief, and better sleep.

Sheck stated that her own use of CBD was due to pain and inflammation, adding,

“That’s how I was introduced to CBD. I’ve been taking it forever. Once I started taking it, I started to realize that it just helps with dealing with anxiety and the stress that comes along with everyday life.”

Lindsay originally started researching CBD because of the way that it can help with anxiety relief.

She stated,

“For me, when I drink our water, it just makes me have a clear mind. I feel like it’s a weight lifted off of me when I consume our water.”

Pladson credited her joint and back inflammation as the reason for including CBD in her routine, due to her years playing hockey as a child.

She noted,

“That also seemed to clear up. I had a desk job as well, sitting down all of the time caused a lot of issues with my back. CBD helps with all of those issues.”

When the product officially launches, it will be available in four flavors initially, and natural terpenes are mixed in with each drink. Terpenes offer their own set of benefits, and the women states that it causes an “entourage effect” through the rest of the body.

She explained further, stating,

“They have different effects and when you combine it with CBD, you get a bonus on top of it. With the different flavors, you’ll get an added bonus with the natural terpenes.”

Presently, consumers are legally allowed to purchase CBD-related products, like CBD oil capsules, if they use the BC Cannabis Store to do so. However, in the pursuance of other products to be allowed in the industry, the women believe that educating the public is necessary.

Sheck said,

“A lot of people have a total misunderstanding of CBD versus regular marijuana, or THC.”
