Nextleaf Secures US Patent for Its Post Cannabis Oil Extraction Methodology of CBD and THC
On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, Nextleaf announced that it was granted with a U.S. Patent for its technological processes in post extraction. What seems to have gotten many eyes in the firm’s direction includes its approach in removing fats and waxes found in cannabis oil extracts.
To be more specific, such removal is supposedly done in a speedy manner, not to forget how effective it is in ensuring that it is an “impurity-free, refined distillate.” CEO of Nextleaf, Paul Pedersen shared that the technology used is as good as it gets, especially for those seeking to go from “dried cannabis biomass into a high-purity THC or CBD rich distillate.”
Remarkably, this patent is now the fourth that Nextleaf was successful in getting, which Pedersen trusts reflects the firm’s quality, knowledge and dedication.
As per his quotes:
“This being our fourth issued patent, further strengthens Nextleaf’s intellectual property portfolio pertaining to industrial-scale cannabis extraction and purification.”
The CEO went on to share that the firm is working towards making cannabinoids-infusions more tasteful, as “less refined oils” are more likely to result in an “inferior taste and smell” due to the presence of components such as fats, waxes and chlorophyll.
The aforementioned methodology used by Nextleaf is deemed a viable solution for the taste and scent problem at hand and Pedersen and the team are expecting approval of 25 other pending patents to add on to the secured four.
“By having a technology advantage protected by defendable intellectual property, OILS (i.e. Nextleaf) will be able to drive low-cost production and maintain a competitive advantage.”
