University of Sciences in Philadelphia to Open Up a MBA of Medical Cannabis Education
The first MBA of Medical Cannabis is now available at the University of Sciences in Philadelphia, PA. It is part of the Substance Use Disorders Institute and is focused on the pharmaceutical and health care industries. There have been countless testimonials on the benefits of cannabis for debilitating health conditions such as anxiety, depression, epilepsy, and Parkinson’s. The university has partnered with Franklin Biosciences of Denver, CO to develop the program. The same company operates Beyond/Hello dispensaries in Pennsylvania.
There has been a lot of interest in the program from current students and they expect to have a class of 15 to 20 students to start. A total of four classes will be offered online including Introduction to the Medical Cannabis Industry, Regulation of the Cannabis Industry, Cannabis Marketing and Sales, and a Project-Based course where a product or business plan will be developed. Each two-credit course costs approximately $2,000 and registration has already begun. Despite medical or adult-use marijuana laws in several states, marijuana is illegal under federal law.
