Tilray (TLRY) CEO to Speak at Barclays Consumer Conference in Boston on September 5th

Live presentations from cannabis producers have slowed down over the summer months. However, the one-year anniversary of Canadian legalization is around the corner and significant LPs are preparing to appear on panels again and give presentations. Tilray Inc., a British Columbia-based company, will appear for a presentation in Boston early September. They will speak at the Barclays Consumer Staples Conference which will highlight cannabis in equity research. In addition to presentations, there will also be one on one sit downs for senior management.

Consumer products companies that are expected to be in attendance include Hain Celestial Group as well as Avon Products. Increasing visibility of the cannabis industry has been important for North American companies as they move into the US. With eleven states currently legal for recreational use, several additional states are looking to join. The Democratic presidential candidates will likely have legalization and de-criminalization at the forefront of their campaigns. Banking is also a crucial industry that will be affected when it comes to funding.

Appearances at conferences and continuous coverage and dialogue will be important to push the industry forward as well as to gain further acceptance.
