While there are many unbelievable CBD products on the market, from weed hummuses to CBD pillows, Mike Tyson came up with just another surprise in this category on top of his Dwiink cannabis drinks. It seems the Ranch Companies, and founded by Tyson himself, has just got a license to print cannabis products. The question in everyone’s minds remains – how can a beverage be printed?

Smart Cups Comes to Answer Any Question

The new partnership that Tyson closed with Smart Cups is beneficial when having to answer the previously mentioned question. Smart Cups is the company that will create the first printed beverage in the world, under The Ranch Companies IP license to print cannabis products that can be ingested at the accurate dosage. Here’s what Tyson had to say about how the printing activity of The Ranch Companies in partnership with Smart Cups:

“For The Ranch Companies, it is very exciting to be working with Smart Cups’ technology, because it gives us the opportunity to make anything that is possible with this innovative tech.”

How Everything Works

The entire process involves Smart Cups printing active and flavored ingredients from different natural products by substrates and this way, eliminating the liquid in beverages and this way, reducing the costs for transportation and the carbon footprint. This is done by using the micro-encapsulation technology of printing, which infuses the plant products into their substrate and embeds their content into a bioplastic cup. Here’s what Smart Cups’ CEO, Chris Kanik, had to say about this process:

“In this specific application, we use water-soluble cannabinoids and can print them on virtually any surface precisely. The printed actives and flavors are released when they come in contact with a liquid (i.e., water, soda, or saliva).”

Tyson Thinks the Technology Is a GameChanger

Tyson thinks the technology used by Smart Cups is incredible. When it comes to the potency of CBD, dosing is crucial. The Ranch Companies’ CEO, Rob Hickman, said dosing has been plaguing the cannabis industry got years, as he’s aiming to deliver accurate and efficient dosages of the hemp ingredient. Here are his words on the technology used by Smart Cups:

“We have partnered with top research universities to collect critical clinical data supporting CBD for medicinal purposes and pain relief. Smart Cups Technology is a new delivery system that we believe will set new standards in this industry.”

Meanwhile, Tyson’s opinion is that:

“We’ve seen ingestible forms of cannabis continue to grow as popular alternatives for many users who wish to avoid smoking. With this global license for printing cannabis, we’ll be able to address the dosing issue, which has plagued the cannabis industry for years.”

According to Hickman and Kanik, Tyson's, The Ranch Companies will be expanding the products in several of the categories utilizing Smart Cups printing technology. However, just as all companies with new products waiting to launch in the cannabis industry, The Ranch Company is “waiting for rulings allowing the consumption of CBD.”
