CBD-Infused Drinks are Trending, But What Concerns Should Users Have for Cannabidiol Beverages?

According to Forbes, hemp derived CBD-infused beverages are becoming quite popular. Brands offer a range of flavored beverages, and many different options that users can choose from.  The article explains, “While FDA-approved facts and figures on the health benefits of consuming CBD are still largely lacking, the non-psychoactive sister of THC has taken over the wellness world. Whether its lotions and potions that can purportedly save your skin and gummy supplements and vitamin pills that can supposedly cure all, you can find CBD products in almost any form” — the latest being CBD-infused seltzer waters. 

One example is Sprig, which has four different fruity flavored beverages that are infused with high-quality and domestically-sourced industrial hemp. Another option is Sweet Reason, which describes its products as “premium sparkling water [with]… unique form of CO2-extracted CBD.”

A report by News Wire indicates that CBD could be the next big disruptor in the drink industry, for several reasons, including “growing consumer interest in hemp-derived CBD as a health supplement along with the recent passing of the Farm Bill has spawned a growing interest in CBD-infused drinks.”
