Do CBD Oil Product Storefronts Impact Property Values or Cause Public Health Safety Concerns?

In a recent report issued by Leafy, it addressed “dispensary fears” and what the evidence actually shows. Dispensary fears are concerns that when a dispensary moves into a neighborhood, it will negatively impact property values and public safety.

According to evidence presented in the report, it actually does not seem to be the case. The report explains that a “review of the research finds that cannabis dispensaries improve public safety, health, and nearby property values – contrary to previous fears.”

To reach this conclusion, the publication’s team, which includes data analysts, researchers, and editors, reviewed 42 key studies. Their review determined that “the broad body of published research suggests crime near licensed dispensaries generally stayed flat or decreased.” Further, property values are either not affected, or they rise.

A looking into some of the fascinating findings also reveals,

“Modern cannabis retail stores are moving from the industrial fringes of town to prestige locations in high-value shopping districts. What were once unregulated, crudely adorned storefronts are now state-licensed, tightly regulated, and elegantly designed boutiques. … Those stores require significant financial investment, command premium rents, and attract discerning customers. Most are clean, well lit, and welcoming additions to their neighborhoods.”
