Alabama Gas Stations Sell CBD Oil Products Despite Not Being Available in State Pharmacy Stores
Alabama has legalized CBD oil. However, this controlled substance can only be purchased at one point, and that is not in your usual pharmacy. Yes, you can only buy CBD oil in gas stations.
This is because the FDA has not legalized the sale of this substance in pharmacies due to the strict regulations required. However, different pharmacists who spoke to WAFF had their reservations.
They argue that this will only create more complications since there are no regulations on the people using this substance. The FDA still considers CBD oil a controlled substance implying that before they allow pharmacies to sell it, they will have to formulate strict regulations.
According to Pharmacist Meghan Martin, there is a need for the immediate approval of the CBD oil by FDA. She also believes that taking CBD oil alongside other medication before consulting a doctor is dangerous.
This is due to the adverse side effects that vary depending on the drug taken alongside the CBD oil. However, by selling this substance in pharmacies, physicians can ensure safe use of this substance.
According to Martin, purchasing the substance at a gas station may not be convenivenient since they probably do not have your medical profile hence cannot determine which drug you are to take. However, by purchasing the CBD oil at a place where they have your medication profile, they can ensure your health safety.
Therefore, Martin’s advice is that you need to consult your doctor or visit your local pharmacist before taking the CBD oil.
