New ValidCare CBD+me Platform Collects ‘CBD Real World Evidence’ From Consumers

Despite the fact that hemp cultivation, sale, and consumption was legalized through the 2018 Farm Bill, there is a substantial amount of misinformation and general lack of information circulating about the industry. ValidCare has dedicated its time to ing as a market intelligence platform for cannabis products. Now, to bring more information to the public, the platform has launched a first-of-its-kind National Consumer Experience Program, according to PRWeb. The program will collect CBD Real World Evidence (RWE) from consumers, which will go from now until November.

Ultimately, the goal of this program is to use the CBD+me app to collect a substantial amount of information from consumers to answer questions that the Food and Drug Administration has had on the safety and effectiveness of these remedies. Once collected, ValidCare will share the information with the FDA, though they will protect customer identities and will protect intellectual property of the companies.

The FDA recently made comments that show how necessary safety and efficacy data is to create the proper regulations for hemp-based CBD. The Principal Associate Commissioner for Policy at FDA, Lowell Schiller, recently jested that CBD should be an abbreviation for “Collect Better Data” when he spoke at an event for the hemp industry last month.

Vince Saunders, the CEO of CBDAmerican Shaman, said that the FDA “invited” the industry as a whole to provide data that can guide the regulations that they impose. He added that his company had “shared significant in-house data” with the authority in July, and that “transparency is good for everyone.”

ValidCare has extended an invitation to all CBD product companies to participate in the collection of consumer data. So far, there have already been multiple companies to enroll, including Barleans, CBDAmerican Shaman, CBDistillery, Comfort Leaf, Elixinol, Functional Remedies, GenCanna Global, Lazarus Botanicals, MedTerra, Queen City Infusions, and Restorative Botanicals.

The enrolled companies are asking that customers download the CBD+me app from ValidCare to track their experiences with cannabis products. The company will be able to view the content related specifically to their products and their customers. The CEO of ValidCare, Patrick McCarthy, expressed that the leadership exhibited by the leading brands will ultimately “benefit the entire industry.”

Chase Terwilliger, the CEO of CBDistillery, stated that the CBD industry is presently facing a “critical juncture,” and it needs the work with the demands of the FDA for additional consumer data to show how effective these products can be. He added, “With our commitment to product quality and safety for consumers, gaining experimental data from our customers can help us create even better products and experiences.”

The CBD+me app can be downloaded on either Apple or Android devices. Consumers will be required to set up a profile, which they will use to record personal wellness goals for themselves and/or loved ones. As the consumer users CBD products, they will record the effects, whether positive or negative.
