Dr. Roizen Talks About Mixed Experience and Results Using CBD Oil Products

Experienced Mixed Results Upon Using CBD? Here’s What the Experts Have to Say

It has recently come to our attention that four audience members from the show starring Dr Mehmet Oz, popularly known as Dr. Oz, tried CBD for a month. As reported by RadioMD, the end result? Let’s just say everyone was not on the same boat. If CBD is reigned as an alternative to prescription drugs, shouldn’t it be able to do what it is claimed to do so? Experts, Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen say otherwise.

Here’s what the doctors had to share:

1) CBD is Different from THC

CBD is derived from hemp, while THC comes from cannabis. The former has become federally legal (with some conditions applied of course), while cannabis has not. The experts deem CBD as a chemical that interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system in order to regulate pain, sleep, mood and a number of other factors.

2) Until a Regulatory Framework is in Place, the Contents are Unknown

One unfortunate downfall of the CBD industry is that it is not regulated. This means that there’s no strict guideline as to how the products should be made. Who can forget the existence of the black market? As it turns out, “There have been cases of contaminated CBD products, and tests have found others containing little or no CBD.”

3) Both Significant Improvements and Health Risks Associated With CBD Usage

Let’s start with the good before we dive into the bad. For starters, it has been mentioned that an animal study found topical use of CBD aided in treating arthritis-related pain. Another area of health that could be improved upon its uses is supposedly sleep. Finally, while the Food and Drug Administration has been taking in assessing CBD, they have only approved one product to date.

Now, the bad has a lot more to do with how the interaction between CBD and prescription drugs affects the body. As per the experts, it can increase blood concentration, especially when combined with medications such as benzodiazepines, sildenafil, antihistamines and others. In some instances, the livers’ toxicity level had increased.

4) Tips on How to Pick CBD Product

When it comes to picking a CBD product, consumers must think of not only their health at present time, but also in the future, because CBD results have not been truly consistent across different studies. So, upon visiting a product site, one must look for a certificate of analysis, how transparent they are, and see what others are saying. If a relevant piece of information seems to be missing, wonder why this is so. If the providers cannot be reached or are unable to resolve any confusions, it is best to search elsewhere.
