Cannabis has been legalized throughout Canada at this point, and the Ontario Cannabis Festival is a place for celebration. Coming up this Sunday, one of the events that locals can participate in is the joint-rolling competition, hosted in Kitchener, Ontario. However, there are a few restrictions for the entry.
First, the attendees cannot exceed the legal limit in Canada, which is 30 grams of cannabis. With this limit, the creators of the festival hope that there will be many contributors to the giant joint, considering that a foot of length only requires 3.5 grams of cannabis. The cannabis is meant to be rolled in two-foot sections, which will be fitted together, but the cannabis will be returned after the end of the event.
According to the festival’s website, there has yet to be a record actually recorded, but the longest that they’ve personally found has been 106 feet long. The website adds, “We’re going for 110.”
Consumers can participate in other activities at the festival, which will include workshops to show locals how to make cannabis oil and butter at home. It will also include lessons on cooking with cannabis and home cultivation, comedy and music shows, and food trucks.
Advance admission tickets are still available for $39.95, though admission at the gate are $50.85. To get VIP access, the tickets are $90.
