With the legalization of hemp via the 2018 Farm Bill, companies are entering the market at a rapid pace with their new products. While there is no shortage of selection of products, the public has largely expressed a lack of information about this substance, which is likely the reason why the market has so much confusion. Mandara, based in Colorado, has decided to remedy this need by providing consumers with education as they sell their products.
The Mandara brand recently launched several products, as well as a wellness coaching program. The products include:
Peri Shaplow, the chief marketing officer for Mandara, said,
“Our products are tested by a third-party in a lab for consistency and quality. We have a first-of-its-kind certified wellness coaches’ program.”
Shaplow explained that the coaches provide consumers with a wellness approach that can help them easily integrate CBD into their current lifestyle, adding that there is still “a great deal of curiosity and a lot of confusion” about the use of these products.
To ensure that consumers get a broad amount of information, Mandara has already partnered with individuals and companies in other wellness sectors, like chiropractic care, fitness, yoga, massage therapy, and acupuncture. These partners will be able to support consumers with guidance about the Mandara products for their area of expertise with the right mind and body support for the individual consumer.
Rather than predominantly focusing on consumers that go to dispensaries or the grocery store, Shaplow explained that the brand opted for “a more intimate atmosphere,” like what spas and wellness studies have. With the feedback from the coaches, the company will be able to expand the development of their products to meet the needs of consumers in locations like Colorado, Illinois, and Florida. Shaplow added, “We are growing every day. We see wellness coaches as educators.”
As far as education about CBD, Mandara is collaborating with Giide, another company in Boulder, to create over 50 educational modules. The coaches will be able to interact with various types of multimedia content to get a clear understanding of CBD and the products from Mandara specifically. While this content is meant for coaches for now, the company may release it to consumers in the future.
The educational content isn’t just about linear learning, according to CEO and founder Allison Kent-Smith of Giide. The experience offers on-screen content, which Kent-Smith explains is “the level of interaction people want to have for learning.”
Giide has only been around for less than two years, but it has paved the way for the founder to work with businesses of all sizes in the US, helping them to create customized content for internal training. On average, each presentation runs for about 25 minutes, which allows coaches to take in the content and pass it along to new and seasoned clients.
