Dr. Oz Trusts CBD Could Work, But Shares Concerns on Unsatisfactory Cannabidiol Products

Dr. Mehmet Oz, popularly known as Dr. Oz trusts that the use of cannabidiol (CBD) can work, but is concerned by the saturated market, especially with bad players trying to make gains from the popularity reports CBD Snapshot.

His support for CBD initially stemmed from the fact that many consumers have seen it make a difference in their lives. However, he has since warned consumers that not all brands are made equally, with some making strong claims that neither are backed by any evidence, nor are reflected in the actual product in terms of the CBD content.

According to the expert, who recently brought Dr. Sanjay Gupta to his show, he still feels uneasy with fully endorsing the cannabinoid because of the need for more research and evidence as well as experiences that will help to answer the “what works where question.”

In a conversation with CBD Snapshot, Dr. Oz said:

“Shockingly, little works and research has been done, probably because of the regulatory environment. But that’s all changed […] with the Farm Bill that passed and other things that are occurring nationwide […] So, you’re going to see more [research in medical marijuana and CBD] and we’re going to be able to figure out the answer to the question: what works where?”

The doctor has been following up on the use of CBD, which has helped him personally understand the question at stake. He shared that CBD has been associated with reduced inflammation, improved nerve cell health, pain, nausea, appetite and sleep – with more emphasis moving towards epilepsies. However, it’s the businesses in place that seems to be throwing him off.

He said:

“If you buy products and they don’t tell you specifically what’s in it, that’s a bad sign […] So unless a friend of yours is using it with success or you can look on their label and see very precise information about what’s in it, you should be worried that it’s not made by a reputable person.”

He further went on to note that consumers need to be aware of the probable side effects that arise from the interaction between CBD and medication uses, as Oz disclosed that its best to “get as little as you can, try and see if it works, if it doesn’t move in, if it does keep going.” That said, he seems to be against the use of recreational marijuana for medical purposes as they are linked with “big-time side effects.”

Nonetheless, the doctor trusts that, “we’ll see an even bigger explosion in products that contain CBD,” which is thanks to the passing of the Farm Bill serving as a foundation to the former’s success. He further added that this endeavor will help “open up the market for both research on CBD,” and goods that arise from it.

He is also very excited to see that health professionals are just as eager in CBD’s health benefits, not to mention their growing interest in ensuring that CBD is in fact helpful for “childhood seizures” and possibly, “weaning off addiction.”
