CBD Search Interest is Booming, Becomes More Popular than Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé and Veganism

There is little question that CBD is popular, and now there is indication that the substance’s online popularity has outperformed Beyoncé, kale, and Veganism. An online research tool that studies consumer data and trends, called CannabisMD Knowledge Navigator, presents CBD’s online popularity.

The data gathered is from online search from 12,000 URLs and several social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter. Michael Klein, CannabisMD CEO shared with Benzinga,

“Consumer interest in CBD continues to increase at double the pace year of year. And more products are flooding the marketplace – causing enormous clutter and confusion with varying results depending on quality of a specific product.”

Klein further commented on the potential reasoning behind the interest in CBD, which may explain the growth in searches.

“We are also seeing communities forming around specific topics and CBD. For example, CBD and anxiety, or CBD and sleep. Members of these communities are looking for an authority voice to guide them through their journey of discovery – and that is where cannabisMD plays an important role. Ultimately we want to educate and keep consumers safe.”

CBD’s online popularity could also be explained by its increased global popularity and the increase in CBD industries. In a report by Financial News Media in the form of a press release, the UK market alone generates

“around £50 million per year, the health and well-being market looks likely to capitalize on growing public interest, with CBD-based snacks, supplements and even skincare products making their way onto shelves. Chief scientific officer at Eos Leisure, Dr. David Dawit believes that although full legalization of marijuana is not on the cards, the public is more ready than ever to embrace CBD-based products.”

As CBD use becomes more popular and industries develop, it may come as no surprise that more people are conducting more searches about the substance on the web.
