Candice Gingrich – the wife to Illinois State Rep and sponsor of the state’s legal cannabis law Kelly Cassidy – has landed a big role in Elmhurst-based Cannabis Company.
Candace Gingrich was named the vice president and head of Business Development for Revolution Florida, a sister company to Illinois-based cannabis dispensary and grower Revolution Enterprises.
In a statement, Revolution Florida said that Gingrich would be of great help at leading the company’s expansion to Florida, while serving as the Revolution’s ambassador to the LGBTQ community.
Revolution Florida’s CEO Mark de Souza said that the skillset of Candace in advocacy, marketing, creating partnerships, and their shared passion for social equity made Candace the ideal choice.
Responding to her partner’s appointment, Cassidy said that she had sought a house ethics opinion about her partner’s appointment, and had it cleared by the ethics officer. Cassidy added that Revolution had gone an extra step to see to it that Candace would not have a role in Illinois, in order to cover appearances.
Gingrich’s remuneration will only be in the form of her salary – no stock options or profit share.
