Researchers from Michigan State University have launched a survey that will focus on the CBD industry. The University is hoping that the hemp industry will be collaborative in guiding the research. The researcher will be targeting hemp growers who are currently producing or planning to begin growing hemp for commercial purposes. This will involve those growing the plant for grain, biomass, or CBD extraction. They are requesting these firms and individuals to participate in the ongoing survey voluntarily.
The survey will seek to find out how growers grow their hemp and under what conditions. The researchers are asking cannabis growers to prioritize areas such a temperature management and irrigation strategies that they deem conducive for the production of high-quality flowers and maximizing the production. The study will also take insights from growers growing their hemp outdoors as well as those growing it indoors, whether in greenhouses or warehouses.
On completion, the findings of the research will benefit companies and individuals growing cannabis. The data collected will be used by Michigan’s extension that guides rural areas on profitable and appropriate farming techniques. The findings will also go a long way in informing hemp growers on production strategies, propagation, marketing techniques as well as disease and pest control.
