Father in Need Motivates Young Beekeeper to Create Happy Organics CBD-Infused Honey Products

Jessica Gonzalez, a young millennial beekeeper, founded Happy Organics to honor her late father. Her dad, Mr. Salvador, who was a beekeeping patriarch himself passed on at the end of 2018, due to terminal cancer. The 26-year-old said that her dad is the reason why she started the business. She wanted to create something meaningful to honor him.

Jessica has created a CBD product line which is derived from the hemp plant, and which incorporates raw honey, muscle bum, and chocolate to help the entire body. She said that they do the honey extraction themselves, and they are careful not to remove too much to deprive the bees. They only extract it when they can and if there’s excess.

Jessica is the youngest of nine children, and she learned about bee culture and harvesting honey from her beekeeping father in Merced, California, where she grew up. Through observing her beekeeping patriarch father, she learned what she is able to use today to create her “happy honey” products, as she calls them.

Opting to pursue computer science in college, the young farmer has combined her agriculture knowledge and technology to choose a career. Unfortunately, her booming career took a different turn when she learned of her mother’s illness. She returned home but unfortunately, her mother passed on. While still grieving, the family received news of their father’s illness.

Jessica said that her father started using cannabis to relieve pain. It is from this that she learned about CBD which is derived from the hemp and its benefits. She went on to say that hemp is a great plant which has numerous benefits. CBD is an anti-inflammatory and it does not make you high. It helps with conditions like stress, sleeplessness, anxiety, depression, pain relief, arthritis, and epilepsy.

In order to sooth her bed-ridden father, who also happened to have a sweet tooth, Jessica, began making CBD-oil-infused honey and other sweets. Her father was happier with the experience. It was after this that she started selling to her friends, family, and relatives to make some small income as she took care of her dad.

The young entrepreneur believes that her honey products line will soothe and comfort others who are suffering. Although the past couple of years have been tough for the Gonzalez family, Jessica feels that she is doing the right thing to honor her father through her meaningful business, Happy Organics, which has a purpose.

The young beekeeper feels that she is on the right path since everything she’s doing is respected, from caring for bees to creating sustainable, natural, and healthy things which help the community and the environment.
