Where the Law Lays on Bringing Medical Marijuana and Cannabis Products to Legal State’s Hotels

The age of cannabis legalization has most certainly fallen on us, and this has raised so many questions. One of these is whether you can take cannabis in a hotel room.

In most states where the use of cannabis is legal, consumption is limited to private spaces. It is illegal to light up a joint in a bar or restaurant.

Nevertheless, some states like Colorado have recently looked into the option of rolling out cannabis on hospitality spaces. This suggestion is at the moment headed to the governor’s office, and there is a similar proposal in Nevada.

On the question of using cannabis in a hotel, the best approach is using cannabis-infused edibles. Cannabis edibles are made in the form of neat little gummies along with other healthy snack forms and are easy to take on the go. However, how about holidaymakers or people in need of getting therapeutic benefits by vaping or smoking cannabis?

Other than exceptions in Canada-based hotels where people are permitted to light up a joint, you need to be aware of applicable laws in any country or state you intend to travel to. In Europe, for example, cannabis is illegal. Even though cannabis is legal in some U.S. states, the federal administration considers it illegal, and its use can attract fines and criminal prosecutions among other punishments.

In cannabis -legalized states, there is nothing much to worry about. First, some restaurants and resorts have designated smoking areas. Several hotels also turn a blind eye on laws surrounding smoking in hotel rooms. However, most of these will prohibit any form of tobacco or cannabis smoking.

Our advice hence is, if you have issues visiting a hotel and not being able to smoke cannabis in your room, pick up a handy vaporizer for some extra bucks, and smoke privately in your room. A cannabis-friendly Airbnb rental would also be a great option when embarking on a vacation.
