Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research (CCR) Becomes Society of Cannabis Clinicians’ (SCC) “Official Journal”

Non-profit educational and scientific society of physicians and health professionals, Society of Cannabis Clinicians (SCC) names Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research (CCR) its official journal. The decision to do so evidently stems from the fact that SSC is supportive of cannabis-related research and education for medicinal purposes.

As per a press release by EurekAlert! the alliance formed between both organizations is reflective of the duo’s hopes in being able to contribute to the advancement of cannabis’ medical uses. Co-VP of the SCC, Sherry Yafai, MD expressed excitement in having partnered with CCR, specifically noting that: “We will continue to work together to bring more clinical science and research in the field of cannabis.”

It has also been revealed that those who hold paid memberships will be able to gain access to the material housed in the CCR. A free copy will be distributed at the “Tri Presents: Understanding Cannabis in the Current Medical-Legal Environment,” conference, which is anticipated to take place at the Intercontinental Hotel, Century City on Saturday, October 5, 2019.

Editor-in-Chief of CCR, Danielle Piomelli, PhD, expressed delight in being able to side with SCC, adding that the partnership comes at a time where gradual softness in regulations regarding cannabis allows for more research. She appears to be exclusively excited about the contributions they will be making, namely, “to help spread new discoveries to practicing physicians as well as to the scientific community.”
