There are many questions revolving around cannabis and what it can do. Though there is not much conclusive evidence into cannabis and its properties, there are studies being conducted. One such study has looked into whether cannabis can improve stamina levels.
The study, conducted by scientists at CU Boulder, involved research into how cannabis impacted the physical activity levels of participants. The study determined that among 620 participants, 605 provided answers concerning the cannabis-exercise questions. Of the participants, 494 self-reported that they supported using cannabis before and or after exercise. However, 111 participants did not recommend doing so.
The research also indicated that “future research is needed to refine and expand upon this foundational study. For instance, querying both users and non-users in adult-use legal states would clarify the extent to which cannabis use impacts exercise behaviors in these regions. For example, it could be that the non-cannabis users in these highly physically active states are even more active than cannabis users. We are unable to directly test this question with our survey data.”
As with most studies, research is based on self-reports. In the United States, research on marijuana is essentially impossible due to marijuana's illegal status under federal law.
